Just start dragging a file or text and drop it into "Drop Here" panel, showing near your cursor.

The app lives in your menu bar and does not get in your way, unless you need it. It's smart and hides its actions window automatically if you move away from it. You can also hide the menu bar icon, which makes FilePane feel a lot like a native OS X app with simple minimalist interface.
